Moody’s Assigns A3 Insurance Financial Strength Rating

Barents Re Reinsurance Company, Inc. On July 6th of 2022, the Moody’s Rating Committee assigned Barents Re Reinsurance Company, Inc. (Cayman Islands) an A3 foreign currency insurance financial strength rating. The rating reflects the company’s strong capitalization and coherent business strategy.

This rating is part of Barents Re’s strategy of diversification of ratings to give the company increased visibility, and to achieve a combined rating that gives clients and business partners adequate counter party risk metrics.

The strategy is part of our long-term goal of having our reinsurance operation based in jurisdictions with very high standards of supervision, and high sovereign ceilings so that this does not impair our rating outlook. During the next year we should have a third rating added to our profile to close rating diversification exercise.
