Barents Re Appoints Renewable Energy Specialists

Barents Re is announcing today the appointment of Richard Bell and James Ingham to lead its renewable energy business. Richard and James will be based in the London office and will report to Chris Charlton, UK Managing Director.

Richard Bell has over 30 years’ underwriting experience specialising in operational renewable and conventional power generation. Richard has a strong technical knowledge of renewable energy risks including onshore wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and waste to energy generation. Richard is experienced in both direct and facultative reinsurance placements whether single or multi-territory. Richard joins from Sciemus Limited where he was Specialty Underwriter, working across the Renewables, Power and Space teams.

James Ingham has nearly a decade of experience in underwriting and consultancy in the renewable energy sector. James specialises in the modelling of renewable energy technology products and has designed multiple analytical tools across the renewable sector with a particular focus on wind and solar. James joins from Sciemus Limited where he was Head of Renewable Energy, running the risk management advisory side of the business.
